Disclaimer: This story is lie-fi and most of the story is true to some extent.
It was summer of 2003. I went to IIT Powai Techfest with many of my classmates
and professors. We went to see participants of a robot racing competitions fiercely competing. It sure was a great experience. I was inspired and I decided that I will make a robot too. I have an impulse disorder. When I am inspired I get into something so easily and completly that I am out of control and this idea of building robots was going to be something that would have kept me lost exploring for a long time and that chapter of my life would have been wonderful as well. But that didn't happen.
Hardly had I started thinking about what shall I need to build a robot when I was called by friend who was standing in middle of a ten thousand people queue. I was not sure what the queue was for however, it struck me in no instant that it would be important as these many students are queing up at 1'o clock during summer. So we somehow got in the ampithetre of IIT Powai which had a capacity of around five thousand and we were ten thousand and one with one ant refused on gate to enter as the theatre had no more room. So somehow I breathed and while struggling for other I asked a person struggling to manage to get seated what it was all about and why people are going crazy. He said Dr. Kevin Worvick will lecture on Cybernetics.
The story I heard after the lecture started changed my life forever. He was working in field of Cybernetics. He was researching brain waves and analyzing the patterns of these waves. He was getting success day by day in his experience and he was completely lost in his research so much so that he forgot his routine. He often forgot to eat and sometimes he forgot to go back home and spent his nights in the lab. One day he went home and his wife served him dinner. She usually would talk about her day during the dinner but today was different. She didn't say anything.
He didn't notice that she was not talking. After they were done they went to bed. He was about to kiss her goodnight when she asked "Do you love me?" and he replied quickly "yes, I do. I love you a lot.". She asked again "Do you really love me?". She usually used to stop after the first question and sleep but he sensed that today was different. He said "darling, I love you so much that I can't stop thinking about you. Thanks for being in my life. You keep me inspired to work. You keep me desiring for more.". She asked "do you really think of me while you are working?". He said "yes I do, believe me I only keep thinking about you while I am researching this new thing that is keeping me busy now a days". She the said "I am not saying that I don't believe you but I want you to prove it".
For any ordinary person it could be extremely difficult to prove that he thinks about somebody all his time. But he was no ordinary person. He could read neural impulses in body, analyze them and find the exact pattern generated when he thinked of her. For reading these neural impulses he got a chip implanted in his wrist and become the first cyborg. This chip implanted in his body used to transmit the intensity of signals to his server which analyzed these signals for the pattern which was created when he used to think of her. Then the sever was connected over internet to a gateway at his home and sever could send commands to this gateway which was in turn connected to a small circuitry in a necklace that had a blue LED that glowed when it got signal from gateway.
He gifted the neckalce to his wife and after that he never had to prove his love. His love vas visual and glowing near her heart every now and then. That was the first of its kind Internet of Things (IoT) and the algorithm for extraction of feelings from a brain ways was quite advanced to today's AI standards. Though he doesn't mention any part of this in his book The basics of AI
After hearing this story and everything about Cybernetics, IoT and AI in this story I knew that its very important to find that kind of girl who would ask me such questions to excel in my life so I began searching and after 54 unsuccessful attempts I finally succeed and got married. Impulse disorder.. you see...
Let me know in comments how far you went in Love...
