Just wanted to give this piece of advice goes for both man and woman.
If somebody has a crush on you and the feeling is not mutual,
don't give them any false hope. If you are going to reject them
do it properly. Tell them it's not going to work out and make sure they
know it. Don't start suddenly avoiding them, don't give them any false hope,
don't disappear on them. Just tell them to their face. No, I don't like you or don't like you anymore. You should not count on us ever becoming a thing.
Because if you don't you will be wasting the other person's time.
If you don't reject him or her properly you will bring them uncertainty.
And uncertainty can be very painful and makes it really difficult to move on.
Giving a person unnecessary uncertainty is kinda evil.
Just let them move on and don't be afraid to hurt their feelings in the short term.
