There is substance that can be used to speed up a specific process or cycle. For example, earth sustain a naturally occurring climate change, from global ice age to global warming. How the universe works, if you remember it right it has something to do with the revolution of the sun around the galaxy. Just like how your life revolves around someone, there is a naturally occurring coldness and hotness.
Chlorine (Cl) is one of the most reactive substance. When released in the atmosphere, a single chlorine atom (Cl) reacts with an ozone molecule (O3) which produce oxygen gas (O2) and chlorine monoxide (ClO). Two chlorine monoxide combines to become chlorine peroxide(Cl2O2) then it split into chlorine gas (Cl2) and oxygen gas. The unstable chlorine gas will split itself into two separate chlorine molecule. The lesser the ozone the more UV rays that can impale which then accelerate the warming cycle.
We intend to use CFC for refrigerators and air conditioners but there are unaccounted factors that cause for the CFC to break which releases the chlorine atom on the atmosphere. You may want to cool it down or put the fire out but it just strengthens the heat. Sometimes being cold just turn you sweeter than you intend.
There is some process where catalyst are needed since we aim to speed up the process. It is obvious within the society that the people with responsibility, aiming to swiftly accomplish the intended goal, use something that acts as a catalyst. A reward may motivate someone to perform faster and better.
Sometimes, even just for an ordinary human being, a reaction is perceived from an innocent act. Imagine the 3rd law of motion, "for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction". The reaction significantly alters since the emotional affection may also vary.
It is possible for some to react to something not intended for them, some even label it differently than intended. Most of the time the reaction is implicit. There is a reason for the reaction that is not easy to see.
