Canadian Love

As you all know by now...or maybe you don't I am Canadian and I am so proud and honoured to have been born and raised in this beautiful country I love. That being said, we often get mistaken for out neighbours, The United States of America. So in loving tradition of this I want to share the loving memes, vocabulary, and fun we have with out neighbours, each with an explanation incase you don't get the joke :)

Toque: this is a winter hat that Canadians wear to keep warm. However we are the only ones to call them a toque, whereas Americans usually just call them hats.

Toboggan: this is a sled that we Canadians use to cruise down snowy hills for fun. Most Americans will call this a sled.

Loonie: This is the name of 1 dollar coin in Canada. Loonie also means someone who is crazy haha. It is also named after the Canadian Goose which we also call a Loon. So confusing!

Here we never know if we are done with winter and the ever falling snow. As of right now I have been burnt by the sun while sitting outside, but I can tell you that having a snow storm the next day is very practical!

This is an extremely true matter, in that as Canadians, we find American elections extremely amusing, as well as informative as American elections effect Canadians as we share an important border.

In Canada we have FREE health care. This joke is constantly going back and forth between Canada and other countries like America who do not have free health care and what system is better. But it is true we could literally go to the hospital for anything and get checked for free. I think its lovely.
