Was just reading that between those unemployed (govt. statistic), those that are jobless (not on unemployment) and those working part time but wanting full time, totals over 15 million. I don't believe this includes recent or unaccounted for migrants. On the surface this is a very unfavorable situation but there is an underlying condition that worsens the problem and goes unreported. A great number of these people want a job and the more competitors for a given job the less the employer usually has to pay to fill that opening. When this happens on a large scale it is called wage depreciation or wage deflation and that is what some knowledgeable economists are predicting will happen. There are some wealthy and powerful people that want this to happen so that we, the USA, can compete on a wage basis, more equally in a global workforce. Said another way, instead of bringing other countries wages up to ours, we will lower ours to their level.Employment and wages
