It must be getting close to ten years now, the first time I found this youtube channel. A controversial character Will Gelvin, has always been in my book a "no fooks given" content creator, that for some reason one day just went away.
I wanna say, but I'm not sure of this, that he was on the tube before Crimson Guitars. Or, at least, he was more popular than Crimson in the beginning. These days Crimson dominates the tube space hands down, but I remember learning a lot from Will, and laughing at his antics along the way.
Lost track of the guy. I honestly thought he got too sick to work and thus retired altogether from working with his hands. I remember watching a video about him developing MS, and the struggles he was going through, but I did not think this would mean his whole channel was getting deleted.
All the content, the hundreds of videos gone. Poof went a lot of valuable information for guitarist and guitar makers alike. But recently, something happened with Will. I don't think he's back from retirement per say, but having a health scare, a heart attack has revived his content creating yet again.
Why am I sharing this, you ask? Well, if you love guitar content, you need to know about an OG that even though many guitar makers on social media owe a ton to him, don't ever mention, and they should... shit... I should, so I'm doing it right now.
Hope to see Will sticks around for a long time.
