'Me' to 'We'
By Dan Shaw
I've been up every night this week
Tryna conjure up some kinda masterpiece
I guess it's the only way I can really speak
To the deepest, darkest parts of me
But you...
You play the lines between the piano keys
You defeat the purpose of me
Everything subsequently turns into "We"
Maybe you'd be able to hear, if you had her ear
That nothing's really lost before it just disappears
It's like mist rising from the ground
There for second yet no where to be found
We can't lose sight of what we need
Though intrinsically,
We're used to calling this feeling
'A fleeting intimacy'
But you..
You play the lines between the piano keys
You defeat the purpose of me
Everything subsequently turns into "We"
Maybe you'd know, if you had her soul
That nothing can be found until you're willing to lose all control
It's like every time you see her face
Somehow things just fall into place and it finally all makes sense
