The couples enjoy their final days of honeymoon before having to head back to reality. A few of our couples are in very good places, while some are still struggling to connect.
I've discovered the secret to Henry and Christina having a good marriage, conduct the entire marriage while Henry is on a paddle board. I think that's the happiest and most engaged we've seen him all season long. Henry was cruising around, he was worried about Christina, he even cracked a joke. Henry was born to paddle board. On a serious note these two are still struggling to connect with Henry taking a very long time to come out of his shell. There were a few moments between them that I didn't like this week but also a few that I did. Overall I feel like they didn't make a ton of progress this week.
Olivia and Brett probably had the worst week of any couple. We've all seen Brett's red flags and they are slowly starting to show to Olivia. After being so emphatic about the importance of communication, Brett failed horribly to communicate with Olivia after over hearing her say she felt the marriage was a 7/10 so far. Instead of just talking to Olivia about it, Brett totally shut down and only revealed the issue the next morning. If this is how Brett behaves after getting a bad grade, how is he ever going to handle any real issues the couple has to face?
I think Amelia and Bennett are just the cutest. I love watching this couple and I'm totally ready for the Amelia and Bennett spin off show after the season ends. I really enjoyed their pillow fort, even if Amelia kept falling asleep while Bennett was talking. I really hope things work out for these two.
Another couple that didn't have a great week was Karen and Miles. Karen still fully has her walls up and is constantly looking for reasons to not be with Miles. When Miles opened up about his depression, Karen did not do a very good job handling the situation. I don't have high hopes for these two.
Lastly we have Amani and Woody, our first couple to have sex this season! These two seem to be doing very well and have to be the strongest couple so far this season. I'm very interested to see how things change for them once they get back to New Orleans because they seemed like the couple that has been most in honeymoon mode. Woody is really going the extra mile to make Amani happy and that's something that won't always happen. I'm still very optimistic for this couple.
