Our honey moons are over as the couples head back to New Orleans to begin their lives together. Many hard questions were raised for each of the couples that may be roadblocks for their relationships.
First off lets talk about Olivia and Brett. Brett is just a dick. There isn't a better way to say it. He is a terrible communicator and seemed totally unwilling to come to any sort of solution or compromise when the couple began discussing finance. Olivia makes more money than Brett and enjoys doing more luxury things in life than Brett does. Like a petulant little child, Brett ground his feet in saying that doing those things would ruin his retirement and was taking cheap shots at Olivia over her lack of budgeting. In reality the pair totally overlooked the fact that they could live together, not have two homes and totally erase the entire issue.
Amelia and Bennett were really cute when they went to see where each other lived. Bennett seemed a bit intimidated by Amelia and her accomplishments. I really enjoyed him discovering that Amelia had been the homecoming queen and said that he never thought he'd ever be able to marry a homecoming queen. It wasn't completely smooth sailing for the couple when Pastor Cal asked Bennett if he would move for Amelia's work and he couldn't say yes. It wasn't a firm no but definitely wasn't a yes. This will be something the pair will have to make a decision on at some point.
Amani and Woody had a bit of an argument while talking with Pastor Cal. Woody was trying to say that he would like to be involved in any major decision that Amani makes, he used he cutting off her hair as an example. The conversation quickly devolved into Amani saying that he couldn't control what she did with her body, and suddenly the two were basically having different conversations. Woody wasn't trying to be controlling but the way he said everything, that's exactly what it sounded like. Pastor Cal helped the couple clear the air and hopefully that won't be a negative for the couple moving forward.
Karen and Miles really haven't taken any steps forward since getting married. Karen has been completely unwilling to open up in the relationship so far and things will fall apart if she continues to be closed off. She has approached this entire marriage from the negative and until her attitude changes, things will not begin to improve. Miles on the other hand has been neglecting himself in the relationship as he tries to accommodate Karen. This couple really has a lot of work to do.
Lastly we have Henry and Christina. I see a lot of similarities between them and Karen and Miles, Henry really needs to start opening up if he wants thing to work. The couple is descending into friend zone just like many of Henry's past relationships. There is attraction between them and I think we are at the point where Christina just needs to take the lead in intimacy. I really think things will improve for this couple once they get past this initial awkwardness.
That's it for this week. I look forward to seeing you all again next week!
