Sponges are the ideal choice for foundation application, thanks to the fact that they offer flawless coverage and simplicity.
So, sponges are versatile: when used damp, sponges can evenly spread and blend your foundation. Cream highlighter and contours can also be applied with a sponge. If you are new to sponges, here are a few tricks to try.
• Use Water to Moisten Your Sponge. Adding moisture to the sponge means it will soak up less product and make makeup application easier. If you don’t have access to the sink, you can use your setting spray to dampen the sponge a bit. Just remember that you want it damp, not soaked.
• Dab the Sponge to Pick Up Product. If you use liquid or cream foundation, place the product on the back of your hand and use the sponge to pick it up. If you are using a powder foundation, you can dab the sponge directly into the pan.
• Bounce and Dab the Sponge All Over Your Face. Using the round, bottom part of the sponge, bounce and dab the foundation into your skin. Repeat until you have achieved your desired coverage level (light, medium or heavy coverage).
• Use the Tip for Precise Application in Smaller Areas. Designed to get into the corner of the eye and the areas around
the mouth, the tip of the sponge is ideal for finishing work. Keep the amount of foundation on this part of the sponge minimal so you don’t accidentally over-do it.
