Social media is a beautiful thing. We have all been praying for Texas in these trying times of her struggle with Harvey. We feel the devastation they feel as if it is happening to us and our neighbours. While this is happening, not many people have heard of the devastation people have suffered and are still suffering in Makurdi and neighboring communities in Benue state, Nigeria, Africa where more that 100,000 people have been displaced.
Perhaps this is because not many of us are talking about it. Certainly it is not because their suffering is not enough to attract our sympathy. So while we are having a good weekend let us remember our brothers and sisters who have been displaced by flood in Makurdi.
