So you want to visit Malapascua Island? Before you experience the island and all it has to offer, you will first get to Maya Port. The port is the jump off point to the island.
We went there last year and when we arrived we were mesmerized at how clear the water is. I was like, are we still going to Malapascua? The water here is so inviting I want to dip in, haha. There were not too many tourist at the time due to the pandemic so we were able to enjoy the scenery at the port as well as the surrounding area. Please note that there were no shed to shelter you from scorching heat of the sun at the time so please consider a sunscreen or an umbrella?
Maya is 137 km away from Cebu City, and will take around 3 to 4 hours by bus from North Bus Terminal. The fare is around P150. Maya Port is located at Brgy Maya and is part of the Municipality of Daanbantayan. It caters to outrigger boats going to Malapascua and some ferries to nearby island and municipalities. The boat fare going to Malapascua is around P100
