When you really crate stunning and interesting manga or any kind of work, it takes passion, time and dedication to the craft as long as you enjoy it, then you wont notice the time goes by. Once the audience bites, it really gives a strange and good feeling of accomplishment. I can imagine the intensity of the creative process it took behind.
