There has been a nightmare for travelers recently as many flights around the US had been cancelled and the problem has now even prompted response from government officials who tasked themselves with commenting on the chaos as well recently.
This is one of the busiest times of year for people to travel around the country and to international destinations just the same, the chaos prompted the CEO to respond to the backlash too. They've apparently seen some disruptions that they've never seen before in the recent weather storm and wave of cancellations.
The DOT was allegedly going to investigate after thousands of flights had been cancelled causing a widespread travel problem for many. You can find multiple stories and videos of people stuck at airports, struggling to find luggage, or sleeping at the airport etc.
Southwest was apparently behind the majority of the cancellations that people saw around the US.
Not only have airlines been struggling but there has been a severe winter storm causing a great deal of struggle for many around the US too, with power outages, people being stranded, and some have lost their lives because of it. The bad weather is also impacting supply chains too because once again we can see a few videos that have been shared of people seeing a few empty spaces in the store. It isn't surprising to see supply chain issues in some of the worst hit areas by the storm.
