Well, I call it more "strategised" for it to be overhyped by nature. The dream was always the concept because they wanted this to disrupt in order for them to make money.

There is a lot of research behind it, but it was a very well-engineered monopolisation game that has been well disguised (more like protected) among memory producers for ages.

And because there is demand and no interest to shutdown these from the government standpoint of view, they keep making tons of money and having a stable feed to control the market.

China might disrupt things, but its not yet there. But soon, maybe next year.
