Dolac Market, located just couple of metars from Zagreb’s main square, is oldest market in my town and has been known as the city trading place since 1926.
As I’m lying in bed with a flue, I found some photos I took earlier this week...just on time to participate in Friday Market organized weekly by Denise :)
Back to Dolac, a market that beats for almost a century in heart of the city. It has two areas - downstairs- there is a sheltered market in which you can buy meet, eggs or our locat specialty- sir i vrhnje. In the upper, open part, there is fruit and vegetable paradise, always full of colorful and seasonal products grown by small farmers from nearby villages. Market is open every day from 6:30 in the morning till 15 pm.
You can also visit renewed fish market (every day but Monday) and we always joke that we have fresher and better choices of fish and seafood then Croatians who live by the sea. Like they say, there’s a truth in every joke :D
One of my favorite things about Dolac is fresh flowers available at any time of the year by really cheap prices! I just wish my cat doesn’t eat it or destroye it every time I bring it home... So let me show you what I captured (all photos are mine, taken with my iphone 7) 🥂
Have you ever been to Dolac? Hope you’re having a wonderful Fri-Yay!
kisses,
Matejka
