Let the gardening season begin!
My Market Friday had been fun and I went to the nearby garden center which is just about 4 kilometers from home. Here, I got newbies to plant since Spring is now here and it´s getting warmer everyday, at least I hope so. I am most busy these days since I started planting the newbies on the top terrace. As usual, they are planted in containers.
I intended to make a spanish wall again as in every year. Last time, I had geraniums in various shades of pink and this season, I got them all red. And I was lucky to get them at 50% off from regular price.
I had to finish planting them today even if the pots looks so ugly at the moment. They can´t wait to be on the soil... so the painting of the pots had been postponed to next week. I want them in apple green color. Let´s see what will come out of them. The lamp however is to be placed somewhere and the cable is to be hidden.
There are so many flowering plants and trees at the center.. but since I only have a small backyard, my plants are limited to flowers in containers. We have a pine heck all over to have a bit of privacy and we also have an apple tree, a tamarisk tree and willow crooked-like tree.
The warehouse shop is not only a garden center but also a hardware. It is so amazing how people love gardening and I can see it in such a way that the shopping carts of customers are full of plants and soil pack in liters .
Me, I got newbies such as cherry tomatoes and another round variety, two chili peppers, a dozen of lettuces and some onion bulbs I still have to set on soil. My strawberries from last year have migrated to the big pot and multiplied to more than 2 dozens.
I am sure with lots of care, I will achieve to have my spanish wall and will become lovely in due time. And it will be just like any wall in Spain full of lovely red flowers or just like those you to remind you of what you saw when you were on holiday in the Iberian Peninsula.
