Town Crier stories have been even more fun to tell since we shifted our mode of operation to charity work. A couple days ago, we started sharing the story about how we were able to deliver Easter Dinner to our local hospital heroes. @town-crier/of-community-and-unity-delivering-meals-to-heroes.
Today, we ally with our local Social Media Influencer to deliver lunch to the Humane Society!
As a digital marketing organization, we have had to flex pretty hard when it comes to doing business in an era where most of our clients and potential clients are in emergency mode. So, we made the organizational decision to concentrate all efforts to volunteer work and alliance building.
One of the alliances we have had some fun with is throwing our weight behind https://www.facebook.com/tracyslivinglife/ and rebranding to What's Happening Stratford. Tracy is a lot of fun and much better in front of the camera than the rest of our team so we are going to promote her awesome skillset and personality as our Event and Product Promotion offering.
This was our first little project and she was all in.
The Stratford/Perth Humane Society https://kwsphumane.ca/ is probably pretty similar to the humane society in your area. Handling all of the abandoned and distressed animals with incredible dedication for very little money. They are all working remotely during the pandemic and have a skeleton staff onsite. Thinking it would be a little lonely, we decided it would be nice to buy them a nice lunch to reward them for their hard work and dedication.
So, the office grand party we planned turned into a delivery for the single person running the whole show. We didn't even call out for sponsors and purchased the lunch ourselves as it was potentially even more important to reward the lone soldier.
If you are of the facebook persuasion, you can check out our promo video here. https://www.facebook.com/tracyslivinglife/videos/261110708624726/ Tracy as the star and as the camera person.
While there, the story got even more interesting as we noticed a couple people dropping off many bags of every kind of pet food in the donation box you can see. We had to ask who they were an give them a shout out as other people apparently doing their part to help this organization.
Global Pet Foods Stratford http://globalpetfoodsstratford.ca/ should be recognized for donating dog, cat and every other kind of food and bedding that the Humane Society needs. The bin was jammed full and you know this goes a long way in these challenging times.
Speaking of challenging times, DON'T ABANDON YOUR PETS BECAUSE OF COVID! If they get sneezed on by a disease bag (the only thing we can think of that would cause them to be carriers) then shame yourself for allowing that family member to come in contact with someone with the virus, and disinfect them!
Don't take our advice though. Here is guidance the leaders at the Humane Society asked us to pass along.
“We recognize that pets play a vital role in our lives, especially during a stressful period such as now. The Stratford Perth Humane Society wants to ensure that people and pets can remain together even in the face of a crisis. Pet owners can still access emergency services (listed via our home page kwsphumane.ca), and we have recently launched a pet food bank to support community members who might need assistance (https://kwsphumane.ca/petfoodbanks). We are also encouraging people to ensure that pets are a part of their emergency plans and have provided a pet care plan template on our website (https://kwsphumane.ca/covid19). This pet care plan is available for people to download, complete and provide to their back-up caregivers, or leave in a highly visible spot in their house.
We of course welcome any questions. People can reach out to us at 519-273-6600 or visit our website at kwsphumane.ca.”
There you have it folks. Love your pets and support the Humane Society in your area.
Big thanks to Tracy for pitching in to help is reward more front line workers who are some of the greatest heroes in times of crisis with their bravery and selfless dedication. Please continue to support YOUR front line now and take a look at your local humane society as a place to pitch in.
STAY TUNED FOR THE NEXT PROJECT COMING THIS WEEK!
It is difficult to put into words how fulfilling it is to play a small part in supporting all of the community heroes. All we can do is be thankful for being involved and hope it inspires you to get involved in your community when it needs you the most.
