I keep saying to myself
I can’t believe it’s been 13 years!
We recently celebrated our wedding anniversary. Technically we haven’t celebrated in the way we planned to yet due to cold season. That’s one thing you will experience when having multiple children, sickness that keeps on spreading. It seems every year around the time of our anniversary, November 18th, at least one of our kiddos comes down with a cold.
In spite of having to postpone our plans we took some time to enjoy a trip down memory lane and looked back on our years together. We are thankful for the hard times that has brought us closer making us a stronger unit. We are grateful for the joyous times that reminds us why we chose to be together, committed and dedicated to building this family.
In our generation we are considered rare due to the high divorce rates and the longevity of our marriage in reference to our age. Unfortunately, we have witnessed many of our friends and family that got married around the same time we did get divorced. We prayed and talked with them and tried to help them work things out but with no success. It really saddens me that marriage is not honored as it should be and the word commitment is becoming extinct.
I hope the good Lord allows my husband and I to live a long life together with the privilege of being able to meet our grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grands! Our goal is to value and honor this blessing of marriage giving all glory to our Heavenly Father who loves and cares for us. Without Him our marriage would have been over years ago when times got tough. We owe it all to Him ~
“With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;” Ephesians 4:2 KJV
Here’s a few of our treasured moments throughout the years...
Life is not perfect but it’s good and we want to take full advantage of the time we have here. We make our marriage and family a priority because we know it’s a blessing that has been given to us and we don’t take that lightly.
