Qetesh or Qadash is an epithet that means Holiness, Blessed, or the Holy One. Icons of her show the familiar symbols of a triangle, lion, lotus, snake, Eye of Ra and crescent. Despite being found in Egypt, she was imported from another culture: "she is considered an Egyptian deity influenced by religion and iconography of Canaan." Note that in the early seventeenth century BCE the Hyksos controlled a large part of Eygpt. Thus, further clues about Magna Mater must be sought elsewhere in the sands of time.

As "qadesh" is an epithet, not a name, it is not clear which Canaanite goddess She is. She may be an aspect of either Asherah, Anat, or Ashtart or She may represent a combination of Asherah, Anat, and Ashtart.
