We have in home health care to help recover from a radical mastectomy of her left breast.
A few different nurses have come in to change out the sponge and drape on her wound vac in the last week, and it’s quite an uncomfortable procedure for her
Yesterday, our nurse had noticed a lot of of little metal pieces on ’s chest wall, so he started pulling them off her chest wall.
He had never seen anything like it before in all his years of nursing, but notified us by text a few hours later that they were used during ’s surgery.
Today, had her stitches removed that are from the removal of several lymph nodes that all tested negative for cancer.
We told ’s surgeon that the nurse removed the magnesium clips and he was surprised that the nurse removed the clips, because they were clamping blood vessels.
We were also told that is ready for skin grafting on her open wound. Her mastectomy was 2 weeks from today and she is currently cancer free.
Please keep in your prayers, and ladies be sure to keep up with your Breast Self-exams, and go to your doctor immediately if you find the tiniest lump.
