Years of over expansion finally caught up with the United States' largest mattress retailer.
Mattress Firm filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy after much speculation. The retailing giant has over $1 billion in liabilities to over 50,000 creditors.
A restructuring plan is in place which includes closing 700 stores. The company owes some of the largest mattress manufacturers money.
