A woman who’s deserved her title;
Striding her feet on supposed man’s land,
Defying the odds of academics;
Proving that age is nothing,
But just a collection of summed up years.
Courageous as she is,
Virtuous in character;
Forward sighted,
Goal oriented,
Better than me in her own way;
She has made history,
Her family proud,
Earned every young woman respect.
Still walking the long Journey;
We watch her,
Doing great works;
Building the old Hurudza,
Something we have failed in our own capacity;
Her influence has done it for us.
The other generation had it in mind;
Thinking this generation is shallow minded,
Speculating we won’t achieve;
Little did they know their vision is myopic,
Mediocrity is not an option for some of us,
Although not so many of us;
We are a collection of dynamites;
Coming in small packages.
Lest we forget,
Her name is Maud Chifamba;
She has become the youngest;
The youngest degree holder in Africa;
As young as she is;
She remains a great noble mind.
