What Will Really Happen If Floyed "Money" Mayweather Fights Conor "The Notorious" McGregor
If you are a boxing, MMA or a sports fan in general, you are aware of the buzz that Floyed Mayweather and Conor McGregor are in talks to fighting each other. My personal opinion, the fight WILL happen due to these factors
- Mayweather announced he has come out of retirement
- McGregor received his Nevada State boxing license
- Both worlds will collide, making fans of boxing and MMA come together for a Super Bowl like event
- The fight will generate money, lots of money
- The amount of cash that is at stake is too much to lose for both fighters
Many are speculating that the fight will not happen. I have heard this before, especially when it came to the Pacman-Mayweather fight. With the fighters hopefully coming to terms, this fight will happen soon. Here is what will happen the months before the fight and what will happen per round when the fight happens and if it goes the distance. Reminder, McGregor has the punches chance in the fight, but Mayweather is more accurate. Emotionally, I want McGregor to win, but using my intelligence in boxing, Mayweather WILL win to take an easy payday.
The Build Up
This will probably be the best part of the of the whole event in general, the shit talking. Both Mayweather and McGregor are well known for their brash trash talking toward their opponents before the fight and during the press/promo conferences. They are both masters in psychological warfare in their industries when it comes to talking trash. Getting in their opponents head is key part of victory. This part will clearly go to McGregor. McGregor is more up front and in your face when it comes to trash talking. Mayweather will throw insults at the same rate, but McGregor will be more aggressive.
The Fight
Location: Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, Nevada
Round 1
The energy in the arena is electric! When the bell rings, the crowd erupts! McGregor will start off strong. Aggressive and taking risks, boxing Mayweather in to the ropes just like how Marcos Maidana did in his first fight with Floyed. The ruff house style McGregor will apply will be effective and confusing to Mayweather. Mayweather will manage to take the cleaner shots, thus giving the round to Floyed. It will look like McGregor took the round, but all judges will go for Floyed.
Mayweather 10- McGregor 9
Round 2
Just like the first round, McGregor will come out with the same style as before, but with more of a knowledge on what he is dealing with and adjust to the game Mayweather will be applying. Mayweather will have his hands up and take the more cleaner shots again when McGregor is smothering him to the ropes. At this point McGregor will start realizing that he is going to need to change the game plan in order to get a victory. Round 2 goes to Money!
Mayweather 20- McGregor 18
Round 3
Mayweather now has an understanding of McGregor, and is slowly adjusting to his ruff style tactics to start dominating the fight. McGregor, getting frustrated will start to take some foul shots that might cost him a point or two. McGregor is now realizing, he is playing Mayweather's game. McGregor loses the round.
Mayweather 30- McGregor 27
Round 4
McGregor now knows he needs to pick up the pace in a smart manner. McGregor will be more cautious, but will still fall in Floyed's counters giving him a understanding of his power and brilliance. The fight starts to lose steam when it comes to the crowd and now this is a normal Floyed Mayweather boxing match.
Mayweather 40- McGregor 36
Round 5
This is where McGregor might start to lose steam due to his experience in MMA. At this point, Mayweather will be making McGregor a punching bag. Showing heart and will, McGregor is still going to give all that he has, but that will not be enough. This is where McGregor might be in danger if he doesn't keep his hands up or falls in a classic Mayweather counter, he is done.
Mayweather 50- McGregor 45
Round 6
Mayweather now knows he can finish this and is carefully seeking the best opportunity to take out McGregor. Lethargic, McGregor understands that he can go down if he is not careful. At this point, Mayweather has fully adjusted to McGregor's style and is applying all boxing fundamentals that can be devastating for McGregor.
Mayweather 60- McGregor 54
Round 7 -Round 10
These rounds are the danger zone for McGregor, and in order to win, he knows and needs to go for the KO. Knowing that he can fall in a Mayweather counter, McGregor is cautious and fails to find the opportunity.
By the end of the 10th
Mayweather 100- McGregor 90
Round 11
By this time, the fight should have ended in favor to Mayweather by TKO or KO. If the fight is continues, McGregor will be tired and has punched himself out.
Mayweather 110- McGregor 99
Round 12
Mayweather is going for broke! If he lands the proper punch, it is game over for McGregor. Showing heart and will like the warrior he is, McGregor is going to try to go the distance since he knows that there will be no way to win unless he lands the perfect KO shot.
Final Score Card if the Fight Goes the Distance
Mayweather 120- McGregor 108
Mayeather wins Unanimously or By KO
