The MBA was once a degree that people regarded as a high achievement. Since completing mine in 2018, I have seen a rise in the number of people wanting to get an MBA with little experience after college and no real vision on why they want one.
So to help people who are thinking about it, I've listed a few reasons why you should/shouldn't pursue an MBA.
Should:
- Your job is paying for it
- There is a clear path to promotion once you obtain it
- You want access to the schools network
- You need to build business skills for a career pivot
Shouldn't:
- You didn't get a job right after undergrad
- You don't know what you want to do with your life
- You want to make new friends
- Everyone else is getting an MBA
