As a physician on Steemit- I hope we get a broader range of topics for blogs like this one. The promise of personalized medicine has been years in the making and it's slowly but surely making it's way to the bedside. I, myself, am on the verge of using the genome to guide medical decisions. In one case, confirming that an individual is indeed a ultrarapid metabolizer of medications (had a history of high dosages of medications with minimal effect). And in another case using pharmacogenomics to look for certain alleles to help guide in choosing one medication over another. Having said this, however, this really isn't even the tip of the tip of the iceberg and I am excited to see what comes down the pipeline.
