I just spent a pleasant couple of hours with and
who are visiting London for a few days. We had chatted on Hive before, but you cannot beat face to face.
We met in the fancy lobby of a hotel just off Oxford Street. It was busy around there and the Christmas lights are up. It only took just over an hour from my place. We had a drink and chatted about Hive and other things. There is never enough time to cover everything you want to talk about.
They were at Hivefest in Mexico, so it was great to hear how it went. Alessandra brought me a HQ magazine. I got one of those in Amsterdam, but they only seem to print them for the big events.
We wanted some food, but there was a private event in the restaurant and the bar menu did not offer much. We went off to Mildred's vegan restaurant in Soho. Unfortunately we just missed and
, but i did not see any messages until later.
The food was great. The vegan bratwurst and sauerkraut was excellent. The restay is tiny, but we did not have to wait too long for a table. I had to dash off as i finished to catch a train, but it was an enjoyable evening.
I would always encourage people to try and meet other Hivers. You are guaranteed to have interesting conversations even if it is just two of you. Name a date and time. It does not have to be anything fancy as it is the people that matter.
