For 7 years straight, Melbourne, Australia has been declared the Best livable city in the world by the Economist Intelligence Unit which assesses stability, healthcare, culture, environment, education, and infrastructure in 140 different cities.
Also happens to be the city of my Birth, so I may be a little biased. No cities of the USA made it into the top 10.
The placings were:
- Melbourne, Australia
- Vienna, Austria
- Vancouver, Canada
- Toronto, Canada
- (Tie) Adelaide, Australia
- (Tie) Calgary, Canada
- Perth, Australia
- Auckland, New Zealand
- Helsinki, Finland
- Hamburg, Germany
3 cities from Australia and 3 from Canada take out the top 10. Melbourne scored perfectly in health care, education and infrastructure, this helped it land the top spot for the seventh year in a row.
Here is a story of my Great Great Grandfather, an early migrant to Melbourne, Australia.
