I couldn't end the year without creating an illustration that I hope represents what's to come in 2026. However, I made two illustrations because I didn't like how the first one turned out at all. Here I'm showing everything: mistakes and poorly executed drawings, or at least not how I had imagined them. But you can always start over and learn from it, and I also had the time. So, I'll tell you about the first illustration, and I hope you like the second one and that I've managed to convey the message that 2026 will be a year where wishes come true and many more unexpected things will happen.

First, I started with the sketch. I wanted to do everything without lines, adding the colors and shadows little by little. I painted the background dark so I could begin with the figure behind it. Then came the hands, and finally what the jar would contain. I wanted to create a constellation with large stars to symbolize wishes, but I didn't like it at all. First, the hands looked shapeless, even with the lines I added. I don't think I knew how to draw them. Second, I wasn't convinced by the stars or the lights.

So, disappointed with how this illustration turned out, where I felt I didn't put much effort into it, or rather, didn't apply the techniques well because I rushed it, and also because I didn't like the reference for what I wanted, I sketched the next one, using better references of glass jars, and adding a little chibi too. Why not? I saw an image of a large light bulb with a smaller character next to it, and well, I wanted to try something like that, to see how it all turned out.

I painted the background dark, first brown and then black, to create a clean line art of the figures; afterwards, I added small white highlights to the jar to give it depth and the impression that it's transparent. I'm not sure if I'm explaining myself well.

I painted the base colors of the chibi; I wanted her to have white hair, to represent a blank canvas, something like that. I liked the idea and it stayed that way.

Then I drew stars and some cloud shapes in pink on the lower part of the jar. And I added details and color, colorful sparkles coming out of the jar and blurred starlight reflections.

Now came the painting of the stars and giving them that luminous touch. Here I didn't just want to make yellow stars, so I added other colors, like green, blue, and pink, playing with shadows and light in a cumulative effect. They turned out like this:

To make them feel like they were truly inside the jar, I added a white shadow with reduced opacity and a reflection in orange and yellow tones, as well as other details like some raised lines. I also added a light across the entire base of the jar to make it stand out more and convey that it is the focal point of the entire composition.

To finish this part, I added shadows and details to the chibi, and also toned down the white tone of the line art to create more harmony. I added a texture layer, set it to overlay, and lowered the opacity.

It's relatively ready up to this point, but I wanted to give it a bit of animation, so in a separate document, I drew three well-lit stars near the chibi. I exported these as PNGs, and in Capcut I created the following animation. I should note that with the final version of those three stars (without the movement), I made some adjustments to the light levels, and the results were all like this:

With this illustration, I wish you a 2026 filled with fulfilled goals and dreams, and that you continue to fill your jar with many more, especially with health and prosperity. Happy New Year, I wish you all the best.

No podía terminar el año sin hacer una ilustración que espero represente lo que viene en el 2026, no obstante, hice dos ilustraciones porque la primera no me gusto para nada como quedó, para aquí yo muestro todo, errores y dibujos mal logrado, o por lo menos no como lo estaba imaginando, pero se puede volver a comenzar y aprender de ello, bueno, también que el tiempo me lo permitió. Así que, les relataré de la primera ilustración y espero que les guste la segunda y haya podido transmitir el mensaje de que el 2026 será un año donde los deseos se cumplirán y vendrán muchos más que no esperabas.

Primero comencé con el boceto, aquí quería hacer todo sin línea, es decir, ir agregando los colores y sombras poco a poco, pinté el fondo oscuro, para así comenzar con la figura detrás. Luego las manos y por último lo que contendría el frasco, donde quería hacer como una constelación y estrellas grandes, simbolizando los deseos, pero no me gustó para nada, primero las manos parecieran que no tuvieran forma, aun con las líneas que le agregué, creo que no supe como hacerlas y segundo, las estrellas no me convencían y tampoco las luces.

Así que, con el disgusto de como me quedó esta ilustración, donde sentí que no le metí ganas o, mejor dicho, no apliqué bien las técnicas por hacerlo rápido, aunado que la referencia no me gustó para lo que quería, hice el boceto del siguiente, siguiendo mejores referencias de frascos de vidrio, añadiéndole también una pequeña chibi ¿Por qué no? Ya que vi una imagen de un bombillo grande con un personaje más pequeño a su lado y bueno, quise intentar hacer algo así, a ver como resultaba todo.

El fondo lo pinté oscuro, primero en marrón y luego en negro, para así hacer el linea art de las figuras en limpio; posterior a ello, hice unos pequeños reflejos en blanco al frasco, para darle como profundidad y que es transparente, no sé si me explico bien.

Pinté los colores bases de la chibi, quería que tuviese como el cabello blanco, para representar como el lienzo en blanco, algo así, me agradó la idea y se quedó de ese modo.

Luego dibujé las estrellas y unas formas de nube en rosado en la zona inferior del frasco. Y fui añadiendo detalles y color, chispas de colores que iban saliendo del frasco y reflejos de estrellas desenfocadas.

Ahora venia el pintar las estrellas y darle ese toque luminoso, aquí ya no quise solo hacer estrellas amarillas, agregué otros colores, como el verde, el azul y el rosa, jugando con las sombras y las luces en un efecto de suma, quedaron de este modo:

Para que, se sintieran como que de verdad estuviesen dentro del frasco, le añadí una sombra blanca bajada de opacidad y un reflejo en tonos naranjas y amarillos, además de otros detalles como unas líneas sobresalientes. Asimismo, una luz en toda la base del frasco, para hacerlo destacar más y dar a entender que es el foco de atención en toda la composición.

Para ir finalizando esta parte, le incorporé las sombras y detalles a la chibi, además de bajar el tono blanco del line art, para crear más armonía. Incorporé una capa de textura, le di superponer y bajé de opacidad.

Ya hasta aquí esta relativamente listo, pero, quería darle como algo animado, así que, en otro documento aparte, le dibujé tres estrellas bien iluminadas y cerca de la chibi, estas las exporté en png, y en capcut logré la siguiente animación, debo acotar que, con la versión final de esas tres estrellas (sin el movimiento) hice algunas modificaciones de niveles de luz y los resultados de todos fueron de esta manera:

Con esta ilustración, les deseo que este 2026 sea un año de metas y deseos cumplidos y que sigan llenando el frasco con muchas más, sobre todo llena de salud y prosperidad. Feliz año nuevo, les deseo siempre lo mejor.
