I get the ethics of it, but pragmatically, maybe not selling out all the cards fails to impress the dress for success crowd that seems to value bs over reality.

I think it is too early to sell at a loss.
Nobody will care about things that happened before they joined a going concern.
As long as the endeavor is successful.
