Before I begin, I want to give a special thanks to all of the men and women who have served in the United States military. Your bravery and dedication are commendable. Without you, our nation would be far less free and safe.
For all of the families who mourn today, I thank you as well. The sacrifice of your loved ones has not gone unnoticed. Their willingness to give their lives have saved countless more. As a nation, we remember those who you dearly miss.
A Time Spent With Family And Friends
I have known many who served our country in the military. I am fortunate that everyone I have know has returned home. Not all have returned in the same shape that they left, but they have indeed returned home.
Today, I spent time with my family and the two international students that my family has adopted. Our time overseas has given us a great appreciation of freedom. It has also given us a great appreciation for people who are not like ourselves.
We visited a local garden and strolled around for a few hours. The following photos are some of the highlights of the day.
It was a warm day. The sun was shining brightly. And our kiddos' little legs were worn out by the end of the day.
Glad no one fell in the water. I was a bit concerned on a few occasions.
The ornaments added to the beauty of the garden.
Can you find my Lil' Pumpkin?
The butterfly house was really cool.
This is probably my favorite shot of the day!
Final Thoughts
Celebrate life. Honor those who have sacrificed for us. Be kind to those who are not like you. Smile quickly and often.
- How did you celebrate Memorial Day?
- If you do not live in the United States, how do you celebrate the people who died serving your country?
I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks for stopping by!
