My 4th entry for #MetalWeekend
Hey guys & gals! 🎸 😈
With 2018 FIFA World Cup underway, it's only appropriate to say a word or two about football in relation to metal, no? I was rooting for Croatia during a picnic we had with friends today-ish and of course there was music. I started thinking - do I know any metal songs that speak about football in their lyrics? I couldn't really remember any, maybe you, the reader, know some? Comment bellow.
#1: Iron Maiden: 2018 Football season
For our first video (not really a music video... so sue me!) let me keep it short and just quote StarchaserArya: "Run to the fields"!!! 😉
#2: Kiss: Crazy Crazy Nights
Moving on, did you know that Liverpool's manager Jurgen Klopp said about Arsenal's manager Arsene Wenger: “He likes having the ball, playing football, passes. It’s like an orchestra, but it is a silent song. I like heavy metal more. I always want it loud.” On Liverpool's YouTube channel he revealed his top three bands are the Beatles, Genesis and Kiss. So on this crazy night, here's a little Kiss for you! 😘
#3: Motörhead: Enter Sandman
A Lincoln boys football team is a U10 junior team that Motörhead started sponsoring in 2006. That means that they get to run on the pitch to the sound of Ace of Spades with Snaggletooth shirts (the band's logo is almost as famous as Eddie, no?) Reaching the highest levels of awesomeness is something Barney might say here... Anyway, this one was played at the picnic as well and I just love this cover. It is so uplifting that I must conclude that Motörhead suck at lullabies - they were supposed to put you to sleep and not wake you up! Do you agree?
That's it! Till next time, rock on! 😎
