This article is about the Khalji dynasty centered in Delhi between 1290 and 1320.
The Khalji or Khilji dynasty was a Muslim dynasty which ruled large parts of the Indian subcontinent between 1290 and 1320.
Khalji Dynasty was founded by JALAL-UD-DIN-KHALJI. and became ssecond dynasty of DELHI DYNASTY.

ALAUDDIN KHALJI
- he was the second and the most powerful ruler of the Khalji dynasty that ruled the Delhi Sultanate in the Indian subcontinent.

- Alauddin successfully fended off the Mongol invasions of India.

- In 1296, Alauddin constructed the Hauz-i-Alai (later Hauz-i-Khas) water reservoir, which covered an area of 70 acres, and had a stone-masonry wall.
- Alauddin built the Siri Fort.
- Alauddin commissioned the Alai Darwaza.
During the last years of his life, Alauddin suffered from an illness, and relied on Malik Kafur to handle the administration.
- After his death in 1316, Malik Kafur appointed Shihabuddin, son of Alauddin and his wife Jhatyapali, as a puppet monarch.
- However, his elder son Qutbuddin Mubarak Shah seized the power shortly after his death.
