In a previous steemit blogpost someone asked what would be some common good practices to follow, regardless of the diet one is following.
I made a short video reply about it. Here's what I discuss:
- I don't know the best practices, but I know of some good suggestions
- diets can be very restrictive and can lead to deficiencies (think of plant only or meat only diets, or other diets that focus solely on the consumption of a single food or a very narrow selection of foods)
- vitamins, minerals, and micronutrients are important for health and can be in shortage in different diets
- the gut microbiota or the gut flora seems to play an important role to health and to keep it healthy it's good not to be restrictive of food groups, and equally importantly (if not more) of micronutrients
