In its roster, Milan can rely, on paper, on three forwards all with very different characteristics. In this start of the season, however, alc within the Rossoneri attack has only ever seen one face: that of Olivier Giroud. The French striker has played in all 13 of the Rossoneri's matches this season, the last 11 of which have been consecutive starts, to which must also be added competitions in the national team. The Frenchman has been working overtime and now needs Rebic and Origi to come in and help out.
Toward condition
As Tuttosport points out, the real problem for Ante Rebic and Divock Origi in this first part of the league has been continuity and repeated physical stoppages that have precluded the Croatian and the Belgian from making the desired contribution to the team. Nevertheless, Rebic still managed to score 3 league goals even though he played very little. For Origi, on the other hand, only excerpts in the final minutes in which he gave a glimpse of his full potential but, at the same time, also showed that he needs to get into condition. To do that, both Ante and Divock need to play and find continuity. The possibility of their full recovery would not only give Pioli the opportunity to rest Giroud, but also the opportunity to try out attacking players with different characteristics that can make the Rossoneri's attack already orphaned of its entire right flank even more unpredictable.
Program
According to Stefano Pioli's plans, it is not excluded that Rebic, who returned a little earlier to availability than Origi, could be a starter already tomorrow in Verona, finding the field from the start for the first time since the first two days of the championship with Udinese (in which he scored two goals) and Atalanta. For the Belgian, however, the good time to make his debut as a starter with the Rossoneri, after last-minute defections with Sassuolo and Sampdoria, could be next Saturday against Monza. This would be part of Pioli's program, who would like to keep a fresh and motivated Olivier Giroud for the Champions League challenges, first with Dinamo Zagreb and then with Salzburg, which will determine the European future of the Italian champions.
