I really don't care about Minecraft. I dislike the graphics and there are so many other computer games that I'd rather play than Minecraft. But, my kids like Minecraft, and as a result, I have watched them play quite a lot of Minecraft Java edition and also quite a lot of Minecraft Bedrock Edition.
I have also created a Minecraft Java edition server on a VPS and in the same way, created a Minecraft Bedrock edition server on a VPS with Ubuntu.
What are my thoughts based on what I have seen and experienced so far?
Minecraft Bedrock vs Minecraft Java
So, the games are very similar and you do the same things in both of them. But, there are a couple of differences that I have discovered and seen so far.
First of all, Minecraft Java edition seems a little bit more technical, and it feels a little bit more like programming and tech version, almost like Ubuntu vs Windows. While Bedrock is Windows, making it very easy and user-friendly, the Java Edition version is a little bit more complicated and comes with text-written commands.
I have also noticed that the Java edition seems to be a little bit more complicated when it comes to the code, because playing with two players on a server, the Java edition requires much more computer power than the Bedrock edition.
I guess Bedrock is finer code, more modern code, and made perfect for more platforms, while the Java edition code requires more computer power.
All in all, I don't really care, but if I had to choose, I would probably use the Bedrock edition and not the Java edition.
