Hello everyone!
mining ethereum on windows 10 is buggy and the best you can get is 4 MHs this is because windows address the GPU memory in a different way than previews windows version gladly i have a fix
this fix is mainly for pascal nvidia GPUs but you can test it on Maxwell 9 series and inform me here
- first you need windows anniversary update you can get it here it will upgrade your windows to the latest version all your files/apps will stay as you left them so don't worry
- after you install the update you need to uninstall nvidia drivers you can do that in the control panel
- download those drivers for 32bit systems
- download those drivers for 64bit systems
- if those links doesnt work just uninstall nvidias driver and let windows install their own
- the file you download its a microsoft cab archive so you need to unzip its contents to a folder you can do that with windows zip or any archiving utility
- install the drivers and restart your pc go to search bar and type dxdiag got to display tab and see if your WDDM is on 2.1 if it is then everything went fine if not then repeat the same process
- download ethminer here unzip the contents and then make your own .bat file with your pools config example :
ethminer -U -S eu1.ethermine.org:4444 -O 0x9493bc52d3c4ae6c1aee6204cf1793beb07fdd23.stratum --cuda-grid-size 8192 --cuda-block-size 128
if you need to overclock your GPU have in mind that you need to OC the memory so you will get the best gains on your GPU since ETH is memory intensive algorithm you can try starting +1000 Hz and test it
i have been successfully mining on a GTX 1070 +1600 Hz +100 core
