6 Feb. 2018 - Recently a user of the Internet reported a new method of deceptive mining that works through false updates of the Adobe Flash Player application, which downloads a mining software that is automatically installed on the computer, without the consent of the owner.

The complaint was made by the founder of Bleemping Computer, Lawrence Abrams, who explained that many sites in cyberspace that play to cheat users through fake Adobe updates and end up being unwanted programs. However, this time the alleged update ends up downloading software that uses the computer's processing power to mine cryptocurrencies in the name of the perpetrator of the deception.

The mining program installed on the computer is named SystemProcess, it is downloaded automatically as soon as the user agrees to perform the update on the page. In this way, a file called java-player.exe makes the miner go unnoticed.

Abrams noted that, beyond the intricate scam mode, the miner installed on the CPU in a deceptive way is very easy to detect and any user with an antivirus can quickly stop the threat:
