As the title suggests, I am a minnow and also quite new to cryptocurrencies as well. I have been aware of cryptocurrencies for some time, but never had a real interest until recently, steemit being the biggest influence on my interest. When I initially signed up, I created an introductions post and was greeted by some very friendly and helpful individuals which you can find here: https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@ecid/hey-steemit - and I would highly recommend reading the articles both https://steemit.com/@steemladder and https://steemit.com/@newsteemians suggested. They’re an absolute must read and helpful.
And the journey began! I got curious and started finding other resources aside from the primary site (or at least I think/thought it was) however, I was very wrong. There is a bunch of amazing sectors/apps available that I wasn’t aware of and maybe you don’t or didn’t either! I would like to list a couple of them as they’re very informative and opens up a whole new world.
https://steemdb.com/ - Very useful and is it literally connects you to everything, examples being stats, available apps such as DTube, DSound, steepshot and many more (which if you’re not aware you sign in with the same credentials as your steemit account, using your private post key as the password) Which can be found under your Wallet -> Permissions -> Posting (You will have to unhide it using the button to the right). Another fun fact – If you go to https://steemdb.com/@username (replacing username with yours), you will find detailed information about your account.
https://steemd.com/@username (replacing username with yours) – I found this useful as well, as it also provides you with detailed information regarding your account including your bandwidth usage. I was initially very paranoid of over utilizing mine at first, and perhaps maybe you are too!
So as for my first impressions, I’m sure you know the answer. I absolutely love steemit and plan to be stalking you all for a very LONG LONG time ;) I hope all the minnows alike feel the same so cheers and happy steeming!
