Among the cool things in this community, there is a room for the Steemit radio station called MSPWaves 
Hive account@msp-waves, full of great music, and talk shows about various topics, from improving your writing to etiquette and social dynamics. There's frequent contests too, and overall can be a very fun place to be. If you need help, or ever feel lonely, there are many great people down to help you out. A very new user friendly channel, to help minnows like us begin to swim. There are many attentive and caring moderators that visit the rooms, but with a user-base over 5000 strong, positions for moderators are available. Please see the post below to apply!

Focusing more on Steemit news, and tutorials, this channel will keep you up to date on what's going on, and it's common to see in-depth Steemit guides being posted here as well! Although smaller than other groups, SteemitBC really packs a punch for depth and concept discussions.
This channel is also the home of 
Hive account@inquiringtimes's newssteem room, and if you ever played Hive account@boxcarblue's amidakuji game, he posts results here as well! This little game allows you to guess a number, and at the end of the week, multiple people are rewarded prizes that connect to the number they chose! Other topics in SteemitBC include gaming, culture, crypto trading, and AI among other things. Joining the NewsSteem
Last week, I was officially added as a new member of NewSteem! Just before heading out to Steemfest 2 in Lisbon, Hive account@inquiringtimes released the information in a post titled:
Welcome to the Second Edition of "The @NewsTeem Digest"
As described in the above article, our focus will be geared towards abuse mitigation efforts, the users and groups that protect us, and ways to protect yourself from spammers, phishing, and other scams that plague Steemit. NewSteem is running leg work in the background to bring some great articles coming up!
My work right now includes organization of information, making docs, and doing research, so I'm having a lot of fun! It's always an honor to be working on something larger than yourself. Hive account@inquiringtimes has been doing a fantastic job at checking in with

I've had a very eventful and full week so far, and am looking forward to all the wonderful things in store for the future. Just because many people are at Steemfest 2 right now, doesn't mean that Steemit has to stop. Keep posting, and before we know it, everyone will be back!
