Welcome to a new series by moi, Princess of All Mew Mews. When you have a curious mind like I do, you are constantly plagued by strange thoughts... Like, why do mosquitoes exist? What is their purpose in our ecosystem?
So, I decided to start this curious little series and share tidbits of info I come across.
Today's Question Is:
WHY CAN'T BABIES CRY TEARS?
I came across this question when visiting a friend who has a newborn. The baby was shrieking and screaming, but no tears were coursing down her face. I wondered why this baby had no tears, and instantly set to Googling the bejesus out of that question.
THE ANSWER:
Their tear ducts only develop properly at three eight months. They are born with working tear ducts, but the ducts only create enough moisture to keep the eye lubricated and protected.
