I had been feeling a little guilty for not allowing my Yongi to have some outdoor fun for weeks, so when the sky cleared around midmorning, I let him out. I made him understand he could play outside, but not go beyond the driveway. He did so and enjoyed sniffing every inch of the front yard. Well, not until he noticed a woman walking down the street. He ran to her and made sure she wouldn't move by guarding the way, lol!
I was just thankful the passerby was kind and understanding. She just laughed when I apologized for what my baby did. And it's just good she wasn't terrified, even when my boy was barking so close to her feet.
That incident made me realize we need to install fences around and a gate! While I always supervise him outside, he runs so fast that I couldn't catch him in time. And when he's excited, he won't listen to "come here," "no," or anything I say.
Anyway, I invited him to the open field so he could run free and away from the street. Oh, his excitement was amusing. He was so quick to sprint away that I couldn't take a decent photo or video of him. He does look back from time to time, as if to say, "Faster Mom!"
He spent a good half an hour exploring the field. Bathing him afterward was another story, LOL!
It took me ages to clean the many things entangled in his hair (mud, sand, dirt, tiny weed particles, and such). While I always swear not to let him out to the dirt again whenever I clean him, I still let him anyway and then complain, haha!
Well, at least I will no longer feel guilty when he sits by the screen door, with a yearning to be outside, hehe!
The rain came around mid-afternoon, and a beautiful rainbow showed up in the distance when it stopped just before 5 pm. It's been a while since I've seen one. It must have been last year, I don't really remember.
It was such a nice scene, a display of nature's magnificence in colors (although my photo doesn't do it justice). But yes, it's truly been a wonderful start to the new week. Lazy day no more!
