Isn't it a little strange seeing the price of Steem going down coincidentally around the same time Polo's blocking off access to SBD and STEEM for a few days now? HF19 came out earlier in the week and that caused quite the scene, but that was expected. Polo disabled trading which happens every now and then, but keeping it on for a few days? What the heck? Add into that how people have been sending trades (anywhere from a few bucks, such as myself where I sent around $4-4.50 worth of Steem, to hundreds of dollars worth) and never receiving. Essentially a lot of trades are floating around in cyber space..
It's a little worrying seeing hundreds of dollars worth just sitting there, unable to deposit more in or withdraw to at least get some SP going. I mean I guess you could trade it (as in sell for BTC) but when the prices are manipulated, it'd be the silliest move.
I'm not all that worried, considering I believe in Steem long term, but it's a little bit frustrating seeing Polo turning shittier each month. I chose it because I view it as the less of the other evils (Kraken sucks ass), but I know no BTC company can be trusted.
I mean, look at this:
Millions of dollars worth of coin flowing through within the past 24 hours? Not bad earnings probably coming from that, eh?
And yet, they can't afford better service? No phone number, horrible at pending tickets, disabling other features and constant lag. Thankfully I haven't lost thousands of dollars unlike other people, but I'm still worried.
Ah, here's another fan favorite! Apart from their servers falling down nearly every day, now they [Coinbase] can add in how their support system sucks.
Look at those raving fans!
My buys have been disabled for over a week. I've sent 3 emails, ranted on Twitter and got this response:
And still I'm without help. And I didn't even get a chance to go through 5 figures worth of coins, because spending a few grand to them within a few weeks is nothing. These companies treat even the millionaire whales like shit..
If only they had a number! If I was in San Fran, or near, I'd go in person to Coinbase for help. I just wish I stopped receiving automated responses or lack thereof.
And here's another favorite that we all wish had a contact #:
*** While typing and going to Venmo's website, I'm happy to discover they recently UPDATED! Woot, finally these cocksuckers will talk to you.
Coinbase, Poloniex, and all the other BTC players should follow the good examples of like 90% of the top companies online.
We need support. We want to support you, but you're shit until you show you actually care. Unnoticed tickets make you feel like crap, especially when your life savings are on the line (like for some people's cases), or even just having a few thousand dollars in hands you can't trust.
