I come from Bohemia, little country in the centre of Europe. It is less known but it lefts some significant imprints in world history. I would like to little by little introduce some of interesting and curious facts. I believe that I will pleasantly surprise you.

"JÁCHYMOVSKÝ TOLAR" (in german "Thaler" later "Taler" = "mine")
it was first used for coins minted 1519 - 1528 in Jáchymov. (Joachymthaler = mine in Jáchymov)
Holland "daaler" came to colony New Holland = today New York

"ROBOTA" = "WORK" ("robota" is work in meaning slave labor of subjects)
Who thought out?
Josef Čapek - czech painter, brother of Karel Čapek - writer. Karel consulted with his brother about name of artificial creature in his sci-fi novel R.U.R in 1920. And Josef told him with brush in his hand: "name them robot".

"PÍŠŤALA" = "whistle"
