When I was younger most motivational post I saw was anti-sleep, and everyone hated a sleeping man, I guess people weren't educated to understand that chronic lack of sleep can be very fatal, people had heart disease, some died in their sleep, some had unexplained issues with blood pressure and probably attributed it to spiritual problems.
I come from a family who thinks every health problem is spiritual, they don't understand that the body can easily wear down or tear, I guess this was because of their level of exposure and understanding of modern medicine, and their inability to educate themselves or align themselves of modern educational materials that strictly educated them, but what can I say.
Sleep is one of the biggest natural medicine, the body can literally heal when you sleep. It van recover, mend and adjust, but I do understand that some of the sleep requirements we actually need can tally with work time, and this is probably why we cannot just"rest enough"
and make enough money at the same time. Now this mostly applies to average people. Rich people can afford to sleep while their profits keeps compounding through the night, it's that, but even at that, some people who are rich still don't sleep even though they know they can afford to sleep well and not go broke.
.....This is two different realities and this is what money, systems and situations can do to you. In some systems you need to work multiple jobs at the lowest level to be able to afford rent, food and the cost of surviving, this life becomes about surviving and just paying, but people can't complain because it's just the harshness of their reality and there's nothing they can do about it.
Many years ago, I worked through the night while still keep a busy 9 to 5, I did it for so many years despite carry a condition that required me to actually file for disability if I was in a working system. I broke down severally and experience long-term recovery procedures and it's a miracle that I came out of that situation.
For some people they're choosing not to sleep because they choose to. The fear of dying, going broke and so many other fears is one of the biggest motivations that pushes people. Here's the thing.......
It's actually a very negative motivation, one that makes you push yourself to limits that you might never recover from. There are people doing it from a place of survival, others are doing it from a place of fear and there are those doing it for excessive love for money.
This is the reality of the situation and that's the situation. People won't realize some of these things because the body is not a glowing TV screen that reflects or signs, it takes a lot of pummeling and probably breaks down because it cannot take anymore.
Will I sleep more if I can?
Absolutely. I think everyone needs to.
It's as important as going to a park, going on a dates, watching a movie, relaxing or having fun, but it's still the most underrated and cheapest ways for the body to experience true healing.
People will rather take pills than sleep, because they want to channel that sleep time somewhere else. I get it, I don't sleep too when I need to pay the rent, I can't if I have a lot going on, but it's just one of man's most potent medicine and we're just not talking enough about it.
