X (Twitter) wasn't originally a revenue hub, but people who were already building an audience before Elon Musk announced revenue are heavily monetized and have earned a lot of money from building around the 2014s, building a real audience and then monetizing this audience years later.
Over the years I've seen people onboarded to Hive leave almost immediately, they say things like "I can't earn 1$ or $0.20 everyday, it's almost not worth my time" what they don't know is that a lot of people have been creating on web2 social spaces for years without even earning anything for it. It's the same on web2 & web3
Then platform introduced monetization and boom! They begin earning solid income, after years of building and creating.
You need to build before you earn
This is similar to Hive.
Earning 1$ of the token daily looks like something that's terrible ROI for time given, but they first that a accumulation that 1$ daily for 2 to 3 years in creator's rewards compounds slowly and x20 to x100s in the bull market, paying back for all that time of commitment and consistency.
It's even better on Hive because you're accumulating, with web2 outfits like twitter, you're only building towards monetization, no guarantees, no small rewards, no certainty, you can lose your account for unknown reasons and your revenue can even be paused even after you've gotten monetized.
While there are perks, the risks are real as web2 outfits holds the right to take away your account if they feel that you've in anyway breached their platform usage or abused their revenue rules.
On Hive you're instantly paid, you grow an audience from zero, you don't get banned no matter what you do, and if you don't pay attention to the price of the token in the short term, you could accumulation token that could give you massive profits when the season for the token comes and it pumps.
The rules are changing on web2
For Twitter (X) the creator's rules are constantly changing and that's because users are trying to game the system, another reason is probably because Elon Musk and his Dev Nikita are trying to reward some demographs more than the others.
So easier today, Nikita teased that Creators who once leveraged on international audience to farm engagement and impression will no longer be able to earn revenue from these international audience.
There's are content creators on X for example who were previously creating accounts that resembles US accounts, they they create accounts relating to trump to farm US audience and earned money for doing so.
However they couldn't earn money anymore when X added the ability to see the location of anyone from their home page.
Audience & money
The US and Japan audience are the most active audience on X and international content account tries to take advantage of this by creating content relating to this region.
This latest update tries to curb this. While regular creators getting impressions and engagement from indigenous audience aren't affected, this change has caused massive uproar from international creators
So Elon Musk has decided to momentarily paused this change announced by his tech bro.
The reason is because he knows that international engagement on X is going to reduce especially since it's no longer going to be monetized.
A lot of people are now on X to chase monetization. Elon Musk is a business man, his tech bro Nikita is just a clout and attention chaser and not a real businessman so he wouldn't know why his boss is pausing this.
In reality creators revenue on X doesn't look stable and changes, just like other web2 platforms, while it remains the same on a place like Hive.
