I saw a video of the house owned by Jeff Bezos in Los Angeles. Basically the video was showing the wall or the fence of the house and it was covered with flowers and shrubs of over 50 to 100 feet tall.
The houses are not visible from the ground, you can only see it if you're flying above it or maybe flying a drone above it (which I'm sure they'll never allow that).
The house was worth about $168M, and I wondered why they worked so hard to make the house fullproof and airtight, solid and formidable. It was actually like they wanted to shut out the outside world, and this is actually after they've installed world class security system to secure the house.
You cannot get in there, but also you cannot look or spy at the house. Some business people who are extremely rich loves privacy, but for people like Jeff Bezo or Elon Musk, it's more than privacy it's about not leaking or compromising their brand, especially because information regarding their brand or business will become a useful tool in the hands of their competitor.
These people live and breathe money.
Merely seeing them talk on phone can compromise their business, seeing them talk with their partners or even have peep at them in their house can reveal a lot about them.
This isn't the same with those who are either musicians or involved with showbiz. People who are into showbiz prefers the attention because they have songs that needs to be streamed, videos on YouTube that needs viewers to generate income.
They need to always been on the screen, occupying the attention span of people, posting pictures and even talking and exposing their personal life.
Rich Vs other rich people
This is different for people who has a business brand that doesn't require social affinity to prosper. While Twitter and Facebook for example are all social apps, the lives of their owners do not need to be out there in public for the business to actually generate income.
However all rich people generally fear for safety.
The more money a person has, the more attention they can bring to themselves. It is just like how your lifestyle choices increases financially when you become richer, this is exactly how you attract other things when you have more money.
This includes attracting the attention of others who are either aiming to harm you or to steal from you. The more you have, the more you attempt to protect yourself, and keeping a low profile and locking out others might potentially lock good people out of your life, but they'll also end up locking out bad people in your life.
Life is full of people who would want to hurt you, especially if they discovered what's in your bank account or if they have your social security number, bank details, wallet address for crypto, or even understand the dynamics of your finance, they want to steal all that or even kill you if they had to. If they got a secret of your business, they could sell that to the highest bidders and wreck your business.
This is why a lot of rich people are always so scared for their lives though, because being at that level means they have to take extra care.
Privacy works that way. A lot of problems comes with having more money, and privacy is a powerful tool to keep these issues away. A lot of people won't understand how important they need privacy measures until they begin to make money and build finances they cannot afford to lose.
