A few months ago I was robbed, and that was money that I was saving to take care of months of expenses and potentially start up a small business, but that was stolen, hacked from my wallet.
I worked hard for almost a year to save that money and it was stolen by a professional hacker, still haven't recovered from that, but I had to power down some Hive because of that loss, it affected my Hive goals, I was sad and angry, but I had no choice.
This is a bad time to power down, the Hive I powered was just to take care of a few things while I hustle offline to see if I could set up something since I lost the money I already save up for that.
Thanks to those who sent encouraging words and someone even sent me some Hive. It's a bad time to be seeking funds on Hive, and I didn't even dare try to ask for disbursement or something, I never even considered it, even if there was a means to collect a loan, I know I wouldn't even do that because I cannot bear to owe some, sleep and wake comfortably.
Hive
Hive is walking a thin thread currently, the chain is broke, I've seen two or three different proposals from people asking for funding and the masses weren't really happy. Except you're from Mars, you'll realize we haven't really pumped, Hive dumped to below 0.06$, HBD stopped getting paid out because of the debt level.
We've lost 2 or 3 whales probably due to the poor market condition and a lot of people aren't even confident in the chain anymore, it's sad but that's the reality.
I even saw a post where the author suggested that we replace some Hive proposal thingy with Claude subscription which isn't a bad suggestion. We have more posts now talking about voting the return proposal, and more people getting pissed at some of the initiatives that's meant to push Hive financially.
People are agitated and frustrated, some people have taken breaks and others are reeling from the financial mistakes they've made and the opportunity cost.
Let's just say it's not a great time to write a proposal or solicit for funds, because let's face it, it's normal for organisations, people and situations to start managing their finances immediately they start experiencing lack.
Thinning the expenses
I saw a post yesterday of a guy who wrote a proposal requesting for 2000 HBD to buy a laptop, it didn't even feel weird seeing a proposal soliciting for funds
I don't think this guy should have asked for DHF funding for a personal need and one that isn't directly meant to serve a purpose for the chain, but you'd expect that after being on the chain for a while, he'd understand now the chain should work.
Also, they could have just made a simple post asking for support to buy a second hand laptop which shouldn't cost more than 350 to 400 HBD, and no one would have raised eyebrows or even day anything.
I don't know if they thought no one on Hive knows the price of a laptop. Bottom line is that people are pissed and angry, and making such a post means that this person hasn't been reading the HIVE room.
At this point everyone is skeptical of every attempt at tasking and chain, and asking for a 2k laptop in such a precautious time will only attract the wrath of people. I hope this person has learned their lessons.
Hive will probably be great again, and people can be free to post stuff as this proposal from this guy, and no one will care. For now, we just have to survive the next two years, and see where we are on the other side.
