I started life hustling at 17 and as a young teenager who didn't have a lot of "health" to give, I couldn't get a lot of minial jobs because I was always rejected at every factory I went to work. I had to continue applying because there was no other options; no unhealthy person benefit, no considerations, nothing.
Being unhealthy in that era was considered peak failure, because it's either you had enough education or degrees or you have muscles (brute force) for actual hard labour and I didn't have any.
This meant that I failed in almost everything I did and that was because I was in a situation where I didn't gain any benefits for not having the requirements to cope with an already moving society.
It was hard, the hardest thing I have ever experienced, and this was why I took every opportunity seriously, I never joked with any chance. I wasn't resting on my oars, and when I realize the internet was a place for endless opportunities, I decided that this was it.
Era, Cycle, Time & Opportunities
Many people were considered lazy for taking the internet seriously back in the day. People felt that to have a career you needed to focus on the real things of life.
This meant having certificates that qualified you as certified doctors engineers or lawyers to be considered legible for social validation.
This worked a lot, except that it didn't pay enough for people who also specialized in manual labour; mechanisms, taxi drivers and other jobs that did not require a certificate.
Society & Financial relevance
Society Worshipped educated people, degrees were valued and families even had to borrow money for their kids and relatives to acquire a degree.
There were companies and jobs waiting to employ graduates. The barrier to entry was so high that out of 100 people from particular community, only five could qualify to go to secondary school or acquire a tertiary education.
This high barrier to entry make sure that companies and job had a lot of vacancies, and because education proved excellence, it was really difficult for people to pass entry exams, and the ones who will originally smart and intelligent were the ones who became very rich.
Although I wasn't born in that era, but my era was in-between; education was losing its relevance and becoming saturated already, but there was no other option, other than that original the traditional way.
The Internet's Monetization Era
Today everyone is running to the internet to make money, degrees are losing their relevance enable some people are now selling their (naked) video and images on platforms to people who are willing to subscribe to them.
The internet has enabled the most sophisticated form of monetization that has never been known to man previously, and it's becomes even better everyday.
People are becoming unexpectedly rich, because of the creator economy. Advertisers are now selling products and people are heavily shopping and giving back in return.
Saturated, cyclical, ending?
This isn't just even about people like me.
The internet has enabled a lot of people, and given them unbelievable money, relevance and importance.
Life no longer depends on what happens with your ability to pass a course.
While this is still relevant since we still need professionals, my point is that finance and economy changes through age and time and opportunities will come and and go while enabling different type of people as well.
In 50 years time, who knows, the creators economy may die, or maybe not, but I guess a lot of us will no longer be around to actually witness this.
