I was talking to someone yesterday about a potential business plan and they seemed really thrilled. I had carefully put up this plan, thought of the upside and downside and even the financial cost.
The potential challenges and the effect of any negative impact it might make. After all my research and findings, I decided to present it to them and they were thrilled.
They wondered how I was able to come up with such ideas, who gave them to me and why it seemed like I had a lot of information. The truth is that I'm "the research guy".
I might not be able to pull a lot of muscle, but I understand the importance of pulling the strings from the shadows, and making the magic happen. While my role is always underestimated, I really don't mind, I'm mostly happy to just get paid.
So I tried telling this person that I set aside a few hours in a day to do some important research. I gave him the results of the research I've been putting in and he was elated at how much we can actually achieve just by putting in importance research.
For someone who has been exposed to the internet and crypto from way back 2017, it hurts to know that my information level has been stunted, I don't know as much as I should have. I've looked back and decided to blame it all on something, but honestly I've not been able to find anything to blame.
Endless possibilities
I realised that there are endless possibilities with the right information and research.
Research isn't just about putting prompt into CHATGPT or asking people, it's about also knowing the right set of people with the actual information you need.
For example, the person I talked to was basically clueless about the opportunities I mentioned to them, they never knew that what I talked about was possible.
The opportunity was undiluted, I had put in several weeks of research and made a lot of findings and all I did was just give them the information on a platter of gold.
Did I just give them the information for free?
Of course not.
They are integral to my plans and since I know the role they're going to play, I really understood that the research work and creative things would be my job.
We need people in almost everything we do in life, this is why life itself is anatomical and structural in nature. We cannot build unless we're equipped with people, knowledge, resources, efforts, skillset, area of specialisation.
This is why it's important to continue seeking alliances and collaboration in everything you do. For example, I wanted to collaborate I saw a post sometimes back.
The post contained some of the skillsets I've been looking for in a long time, so I decided to open up myself to collaborating with this person, but I saw they were not up to it, so I decided to move on..that potential collaboration would have opened up opportunities for us, but I didn't think they saw it.
Spotting it
I'm always trying to see opportunities, abilities, talents and skillsets in people, when I do, I try to see if I can offer a position of value especially when it comes to making money.
I didn't do this a lot in my early crypto days, possibly because I didn't have the right type of exposure which cost me a lot. I could have built a networking ring, could have opened up endless opportunities for myself and others, but I didn't and in 2025, I realized that you cannot really hustle on your own, you need people.
I have seen some of the biggest networking online and these guys are pulling massive numbers. You don't have to contribute everything, you just have to be part of a working system where you can effectively play a role and get rewarded. You can do it alone, sure. But most times, we need people.
